The Supervisors Discussion consisted of a problem with the contract the Township has with the Cherry Tree Police Department. Although the Pennsylvania Township Code permits the Supervisors to enter into a contract with an outside police department, Indiana County is requiring the Township to pass an Ordinance in addition to a contract. As of the meeting the Cherry Tree Police Department can no longer patrol Pine Township, until an ordinance is written, advertised and passed.
