The Pine Township Board of Supervisors held their regular meeting at 7:00 PM at the Pine Township Municipal Building in Heilwood. Ryan Shultz, Keith Muir and Chris Cameron were present. Ryan Shultz called the meeting to order then led the Pledge of Allegiance.
There were no Guest Speakers
The Board approved the Minutes of the June 2025 meeting. A motion to accept the minutes was called for by Mr. Muir, seconded by Mr. Cameron. Motion carried.
The Treasurer’s Reports and Timesheets were presented to the Board. A motion to accept the reports was called for by Mr. Muir, seconded by Mr. Cameron. Motion carried.
Bills were reviewed. Mr. Muir moved to pay the bills on the agenda totaling $39,185.94.
General Funds $22,315.84, State Funds $16,870.10. Mr. Cameron seconded; motion carried.
The Balances after expenditures are General Fund $396,328.12 and State Fund $567,668.85.
The Roadmaster’s Report was presented to the Board. A motion to accept the report was called for by Mr. Muir, seconded by Mr. Cameron. Motion carried.
The Police Report was reviewed. Police Chief, Dave Clawson requested approval for 10 additional hours for the month of July to work the Community Days celebration. A motion to accept the report and approve the additional hours was called for by Mr. Cameron, seconded by Mr. Shultz. Motion carried.
The Supervisors Discussed looking into ordinances for 4 wheelers on township roads and Amish horse waste on township roads. Looking to tar & chip mid-August. Discussed Stiles Station grant to cover Dutch Run drainage. Milling road from dump area to Killen School Rd.
Unfinished Business consisted of an update for the countywide new emergency services authority. No new updates. The Authority is still awaiting on approval at the state level.
The next order of unfinished business was a motion to accept and pass resolution #2025-0707, stating the Pine Township Supervisors have approved a request for $8,500 by Keith Muir, in his role as Fire Chief, of the Pine Township Volunteer Fire Department to help pay for electric service to be run to the Pine Township Park, land owned by the Pine Township Volunteer Fire Department granting the municipality the right to use the land for a playground and basketball court. The Board of Supervisors of Pine Township request a promissory note evidencing $4,250 to be repaid by the Pine Township Volunteer Fire Department with 12 months. Motion to accept and pass by Mr. Cameron, seconded by Mr. Shultz. Motion carried.
The first order of New Business was a Quote of $2,700 from Stephenson Equipment for rental of a trailer containing a jet washer and vacuum to remove debris from culverts and drainage boxes along township streets and roads. Additional delivery charges may apply. Motion to rent by Mr. Cameron, seconded by Mr. Muir. Motion carried.
Another order of new business: The Indiana County Commissioners are soliciting project proposals for the 2025 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) entitlement funding allocation. At this point the County has not been notified of their allocation amount. However, based on last years allocation, they anticipate having approximately $235,000 for projects. Motion to submit a project to resurface the playground at the Pine Township Park. By Mr. Muir, seconded by Mr. Cameron. Motion carried.
There was a Public Comment from Heilwood resident Dave Cowles. He shared a list of alley events pertaining to the complaints filed regarding drainage in the alley.

Mr. Cameron then moved to Adjourn the July meeting. Mr. Muir seconded the motion. Motion carried. The July meeting was adjourned at 7:36 PM.
