MINUTES
PINE TOWNSHIP SUPERVISORS MEETING
October 6, 2025

The Pine Township Board of Supervisors held their regular meeting at 7:00 PM at the Pine Township Municipal Building in Heilwood. Ryan Shultz and Keith Muir were present. Chris Cameron was absent. Ryan Shultz called the meeting to order then led the Pledge of Allegiance.

There were no Guest Speakers 

The Board approved the Minutes of the September 2025 meeting. A motion to accept the minutes was called for by Mr. Muir, seconded by Mr. Shultz. Motion carried.

The Treasurer’s Reports and Timesheets were presented to the Board. A motion to accept the reports was called for by Mr. Muir, seconded by Mr. Shultz. Motion carried.

Bills were reviewed. Mr. Muir moved to pay the bills on the agenda totaling $140,831.17.
General Funds $23,298.98, State Funds $117,532.19. Mr. Shultz seconded; motion carried.
The Balances after expenditures are General Fund $343,833.26 and State Fund $441,994.54.
 
The Roadmaster’s Report was presented to the Board. A motion to accept the report was called for by Mr. Muir, seconded by Mr. Shultz. Motion carried. 

The Police Report was reviewed. A motion to accept the report and was called for by Mr. Muir, 
seconded by Mr. Shultz. Motion carried. 
 
The Supervisors Discussed the progress of the Stiles Station project and trick or treat.

Unfinished Business consisted of an update for the Indiana County Municipal Services Authority. Meeting dates and updates can be found at https://www.futureofemsforindianaco.org. Estimated cost $75/household. 740 households in Pine Township. There will be a vote on the cost/household at the next board meeting. 

Other unfinished business consisted of opening bids for 500 ton of PennDOT approved anti-skid.
Bid Results: Neiswonger $26.15, Derry Stone & Lime Co $33.24, Grannas Bros. $33.24. Motion to accept low bid from Neiswonger at $26.15/ton by Mr. Muir, seconded by Mr. Shultz. Motion carried.

New Business consisted of a motion by Mr. Muir to schedule trick or treat on Sunday, October 26th from
4 pm – 7 pm. Mr. Shultz seconded the motion. Motion carried.

The next order of new business consisted of insurance quotes for commercial property, general liability, cyber, business auto & commercial umbrella policies for the policy term of 11/01/25-11/01/26. EMC Insurance $12,909. Selective Insurance $14,033. Motion to accept the quote from EMC Insurance provided the coverages are the same as the current policy by Mr. Muir. Seconded by Mr. Shultz. Motion Carried.

There were no Public Comments. 

Announcements: Fall Clean-Up: Saturday, October 11th & Sunday, October 12th from 8AM – 5PM
  Pine Township VFC Sub sale this Saturday, October 11th.

Mr. Muir then moved to Adjourn the October meeting. Mr. Shultz seconded the motion. Motion carried. The October meeting was adjourned at 7:22 PM.
