ORDINANCE NUMBER 21

AN ORDINANCE OF THE TOWNSHIP OF PINE, COUNTY OF INDIANA AND COMMONWEALTH OF PENNSYLVANIA, REGARDING THE LOCATION OF STOP INTERSECTIONS IN THE TOWNSHIP OF PINE

BE IT ORDAINED AND ENACTED by the Board of Supervisors of the Township of Pine, County of Indiana and Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, and it is hereby ordained and enacted as follows:

The following intersections are hereby established as stop intersections or are hereby confirmed as stop intersections in such a position so as to face traffic approaching the second named highway upon the first named highway in the direction or directions hereby indicated:

NMt. Zion Road (906) at Tower Hill Road (581)
SMt. Zion Road (906) at Tower Hill Road (581)
NPineton Road (585C) at Cameron's Bottom Road (904)
ECameron's Bottom Road (904) at Pineton Road (585C)
NPineton Road (585C) at Malloy Hollow Road (631A)

In the Village of Heilwood:

Except when directed to proceed by a police officer or appropriately attired person authorized to direct, control or regulate traffic, every driver of a vehicle approaching a stop sign shall stop at a clearly marked stop line, or if none, before entering a crosswalk on the near side of the intersection, or if none, then at the point nearest the intersecting roadway where the driver has a view of approaching traffic on the intersection roadway before entering.  After having stopped, the driver shall yield the right of way to any pedestrian then in the crosswalk or to any vehicle in the intersection or approaching from another roadway so closely as to constitute a hazard during the time when the driver is moving across or within the intersection or junction of roadways.
The operator of a vehicle who violates this ordinance shall be subject, upon conviction before the magistrate, to a fine of
Twenty-five Dollars ($25.00), together with costs of prosecution.

This ordinance shall be effective immediately.
